Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna has revealed that there is a plan to assassinate Raila Odinga. This news has sent shockwaves across the country and raised concerns about the safety of the country’s political leaders.
The Nairobi Senator while speaking in a press briefing with other Azimio legislatures claimed that there is a plot to assassinate Azimio party leader Raila Odinga on Monday 20th when they will be conducting countrywide demonstrations.
The vocal ODM lawmaker further added that if Raila Odinga even catches a cold on the stated date, those to be blamed are non-other than President William Ruto and deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“Should Raila Odinga so much as catch a cold on Monday, the person to be held responsible is non-other than president William Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua” Senator Sifuna said.
Raila Odinga who has been a vocal advocate for democracy, social justice, and good governance has been in politics for over three decades and has faced numerous challenges, including detention and assassination attempts. His supporters are deeply concerned about his safety, especially after the recent revelation by Sifuna.
The revelation by Sifuna has raised questions about the state of security in the country with netizens bashing the government to ensure each Kenyan is protected and the alleged assassination should be investigated.
Raila who recently announced Monday 20th, as a holiday to allow Kenyans to attend his planned demonstrations against the Ruto-led government is having a people baraza in Nakuru and has promised to liberate the country.
