United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party secretary general Hon Cleophas Malala has caused controversy with his recent comments about Raila Odinga’s protests to State House.

Malala claimed that the protests were “hot air” and criticized Odinga for failing to access the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) offices recently where Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i was being held.

“If you want to know that the protest Raila is calling for is an exercise in futility. If Raila was unable to access the DCI offices how will he access State House? This is simply hot air.” Malala claimed

Malala’s comments have been met with mixed reactions, with some supporting his views while others have criticized him for disrespecting Odinga and downplaying the importance of peaceful protests.

Matiang’i who was being held for questioning in connection with the claims he made concerning a raid by the police in his Karen home , while Odinga’s protests are about the state of the country and the government’s handling of various issues.

The Azimio party leader had given an ultimatum to the Ruto led government to solve the economic challenges facing the country within 10 days or he organizes protests the to statehouse. The ten days ended yesterday and Kenyans are waiting to hear from the Azimio leaders on his next step.
