Earlier today Monday, 20th February several members of parliament from the Gusii region declared their support to the Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza government.
The members of parliament led by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu had a meeting with deputy president Rigathi Gachagua at his Harambee house office.

The members of parliament present were National Assembly Majority Whip Sylvanus Osoro, MPs Innocent Obiri (Bobasi, Wiper), Steve Mogaka (West Mugirango, Jubilee), Patrick Osero (Borabu, ODM), Charles Onchoke (Bonchari, UPA), Daniel Manduku (Nyaribari Masaba, ODM), Jerusha Momanyi (Nyamira County MP, Jubilee), Doris Donya (Kisii County MP, Wiper), Alfa Miruka (Bomachoge Chache, UDA), Japhet Nyakundi (Kitutu Chache North, UDA), Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango, UDA), Anthony Kibagendi (Kitutu Chache South, ODM) Essy Okenyuri (Nominated Senator, UDA) and Gloria Orwoba (Nominated Senator, UDA).

Speaking after the meeting deputy President Rigathi Gachagua through his social media pages claimed that the Kenya Kwanza government is working hard to ensure inclusivity is achieved through working with all leaders no matter their political affiliation.
“The Kenya Kwanza Administration is for inclusivity and will strive to always work with all leaders no matter their political affiliation. In line with this commitment on Monday, accompanied by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, I hosted leaders from Kisii and Nyamira Counties at Harambee House Annex, for consultation on the region’s development agenda.” Read part of his Facebook post.

Rigathi further claimed that the members of parliament had vowed to closely work with the government in ensuring each part of the country receives development.
“President William Samoei Ruto has opened the door for those ready to work with the Administration because his sole interest is to ensure development in every part of the country. The leaders have pledged their support for the Government and we welcome them to work with us as we serve the people.” Added Rigathi Gachagua.

West Mugirango MP Hon. Steve Mogaka has also revealed that working with the government will bring more development to the region which is perceived to be an opposition region. He further added that it’s through working with the government that stalled projects like Sironga Industrial park will be completed.
