Earlier today President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua hosted a delegation of 30 Jubilee MPs at Statehouse Nairobi.

The president asked the members of parliament to support the government on Bills and regulations on the Housing Fund, and Water Purchasing Agreements. He also promised to treat the members as members of Kenya Kwanza since they had decided to work with the government.

“You have a right to make choices as Kenya is a democratic country. You are now our members and we will treat you as such. We will be seeking your support on Bills and regulations on the Housing Fund, Water Purchasing Agreements, among others,” President Ruto said according to a Facebook post by State House Kenya.

President Ruto also promised the members of parliament that the government will scale up the food and water provision from next week due to the ongoing drought.

The members of parliament promised to work with the government by putting their political differences aside and working for the people.

Speaking after the meeting Kinangop MP Hon. Zack Kwenya Thuku claimed that the Jubilee party is the mother of the ruling party United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and they had resolved to work together in supporting the government.

“Jubilee party, the mother of the ruling party UDA; our resolve is one, to work and support the government. Kindly let’s be patient as the President continue to reorganize his government for optimum performance.” Read part of the MP Facebook post.

The meeting comes just a day after president Ruto hosted a delegation of Luo Nyanza elected members at State House Nairobi.
