Danstan Omari is a prominent Kenyan lawyer and lecturer; he started his career as an untrained teacher and rose through the ranks to become one of the most prominent lawyers in the country.
He has represented deputy president William Ruto, former Chief Justice David Maraga, politicians, and was a lawyer to the late Tob Cohen. He has become a household name for representing women dumped with their ‘baby daddies.’
Danstan Omari was born on 6th December 1964 to his late father, Elkana Mogaka, and his late mother, Milka Kemunto Mogaka. He was born in Nyabite village, Nyamira county.

The prominent lawyer attended Nyamira Primary School, scoring 19 out of 36 points in the national examination. He then joined Ruiru Secondary School in 1978 and scored Division 3 in the national examination. He repeated and joined Kiabonyoru High School, where he studied with Interior CS Fred Matiang’i. He scored Division 2 and proceeded to Muguga High School for his A levels. He secured a place at Kenyatta University for a Bachelor of Education degree but what he wanted was law.
He was a classmate to Fred Matiang’i, Governor Sospeter Ojamoong’, political analyst Herman Manyora, and former planning PS Saitoti Torome.
He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1990, and in 2008 he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law. In 2009 he enrolled in the Kenya School of Law, and he later enrolled for a Master of Law degree at the University of Nairobi.

On 4th November 2011, he was admitted as an advocate. He resigned as a children’s officer and joined Musyoki Mogaka and Company Advocates. The lawyer then became a lecturer of law at Catholic University, a job he holds to date. At the university, he teaches jurisprudence, criminal law, professional ethics, and the trial and rights of a child.
The lawyer is married to Pamela. He met her just as she was set to join Kenyatta University as she lived near Kiabonyoru High School. Except for her first-semester school fees, he paid for her university fees as she undertook a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. and is a lecturer at Catholic University.
Pamela has also been supportive of him and also helped pay his school fees as he was pursuing law. The couple has two children, all boys.
